Stand Up! See video at the end please

Let the church be the church, let the people rejoice, for we’ve settled the question, we’ve made our choice. Let the anthems ring out songs of victory swell, for the church triumphant is alive and well! The Triumphant Church cannot be so unless its membership is willing to stand and loudly proclaim her rights to be here!  When I was in school we said a scripture every day, and said the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, we had a prayer as a class.  On June 17, 1963 the church tucked her tail firmly between her legs and let Madeline Murray O’Hare single handedly take prayer out of our schools. Why didn’t we stand, protest and say NO! We all thought that one woman would not be able to get that done, but she did! We are facing situations every day where we still have to choose right from wrong, whether it gets on the 6 O’clock news or if it is buried in the recesses of your heart, our choices, and decisions, are there. Every time we make a shameful choice we are tearing out another plank from the secure walls of our church, we are breaking out the stained glass windows leaving ugly gashes in her side.  This will continue until we as a people start taking a stand. When we see something so wrong that it threatens the core of our belief systems we need to shout it out NO I WILL NOT ACCEPT THAT!

When someone that is charitable or seemingly sweet spouts hogwash it doesn’t make it smell any better than if it were a homeless man standing on a street corner with spittle running down his jaw and stinking of days without a bath!

There is always a solution, there is always a place for healing, to everything there is a season, keep the scripture in mind. Chronicles 7:14 If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. RESTORATION…we NEED it! Psalm 51:12 Restore unto me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you. In reading that verse from the New Living Translation, we see that restoration should bring the willingness to obey, love makes us willing, love will make us want to commit, completely.

This past week I was in a grocery store and a lot of other people had decided to be there also! It seemed to me that we all got to the checkout place at the same time. Every one was looking around quietly and wondering why it was that with seven registers available only one cashier was on duty! I stepped back a couple of paces from my place in line and at the top of my lungs asked a question, “Hello, why is there only one cash register open? Is anyone there? Hello, there are a lot of people in line, we need another cash register opened please!” Suddenly there was a flurry of activity and a cashier said, “I will take someone right here,” indicating her aisle. Again I spoke out, “I am going to be first because I was the one who asked for it to be open!” No one argued with me about it and a couple of people even started to applaud! So if I am willing to speak out for myself to keep from being inconvenienced, then I am willing to speak out about my beliefs!

I believe that Jesus is the Son of God, that He was born of a virgin, that he lived and walked among us performing miracles and washing us with His Word, that He suffered agonies in the Garden and then died on the cross for the redemption of our eternal soul, that He rose again on the third day and lives at the right hand of the Father in heaven and that He will come again for us and take us to live with Him for eternity. I believe that if your name is not written in the Lamb’s book of life that you will go to an eternal Hell. God does not send us there, we send ourselves by ignoring the Word and not accepting Jesus as our Lord. The only requirement for having your name in that Book of Life is to ask Him to be your Savior, it is just that simple. Don’t be afraid of what He is going to ask you to do, just love Him.

Stand up for what you believe, these students did!  https://vimeo.com/148643920

  1. Sweet Sister Harolene, I believe it too. I walk in His Spirit always. I told someone recently who doesn’t believe in Hell that it is not my job to”convince” anyone, but that a thought I had was that I certainly hope that you don’t have to wake up there to find out it’s a real place. My job is to be Jesus in people’s lives.

The Gospel is my life. There is no other way.
