My day with Elvis!

What can I say? My tire exploded, I was picked up in a tow truck which was so tall that when I tried to climb into it I had to actually raise my leg almost over my head to get on the first step and then there was one more that I had to struggle up on to climb onto my seat, on top of that circus act this truck was being driven by an Elvis impersonator who sang all the way to the Discount Tire store where I was being towed, and it took five hours before I could drive out of there with a new tire on the right rear side of my trusty red van!

So what’s the good news? I had not planned on stopping at the church but for some reason just swung into the driveway as I was passing it on the way home from taking my grandson to school so that my tire exploded in the church parking lot out of the traffic instead of doing it in the middle of traffic where I am sure people would have been honking their horns and waving friendly hands at me! The next good news what that my son-in-law, Giles, called the tow truck that came and also paid the seventy-three dollars it cost to get me and my tire, which had to be replaced with a new one of course, didn’t cost me anything because it was only eight months old and I had bought insurance on the set when I had them put on in February. I did buy a new policy on this one so I got out of the place for seventeen dollars and fifty cents!

I am happy and thankful that God sent His Angels to guard me and help me so that I wasn’t another problem in the already horrible traffic around Floyd Road and the East West Connector, and hey, I got to ride in the same truck as Elvis…. almost!

Psalm 91:11-12 He ordered his angels

    to guard you wherever you go.

If you stumble, they’ll catch you;

    their job is to keep you from falling.
