Are you Dirt?

If someone says you are just “dirt” it’s true because we all are! Do you wonder why you have so much trouble and why it seems like the devil is always nipping at your heels trying to eat you alive?

There are 102 references in the Bible to dust; Genesis 2:7 Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person. The most important use of dust EVER! God made US from it! Genesis 3:14 So the LORD God said to the serpent: “ Because you have done this, You are cursed more than all cattle, And more than every beast of the field; On your belly you shall go, And you shall eat dust All the days of your life. Has it hit you yet?

I often hear people say, If God was so good, why is there famine, what about wars and murder and children being abused, and the list goes on and on! God gave man dominion over the earth, all the animals on it and in the sky and in the water. We were in charge of it ALL! Then came the big temptation and when Eve got weak in the knees and succumbed to the temptation, she gave away the power God gave Adam and her to the serpent Himself. We are dust and God told him he would EAT dust for the rest of his life. When that hit me I had to sit and think on it! So in one respect we know that if we are dirt, God can form us into anything, Isaiah 45:11-12 Thus God, The Holy of Israel, Israel’s Maker, says:” Do you question who or what I’m making? Are you telling me what I can or cannot do? I made earth, and I created man and woman to live on it. I handcrafted the skies and direct all the constellations in their turnings. On the other hand, we have become the Devil’s main source of food!

So what do you need to do to keep from being his next meal? I would say standing around the Cross of Jesus and getting soaked in His atoning blood is a good way to become very unappetizing, he can’t eat us when we are covered in the blood of Jesus! James 4:7So let God work his will in you. Yell a loud no to the Devil and watch him scamper Say a quiet yes to God and he’ll be there in no time. Quit dabbling in sin. Purify your inner life. Quit playing the field. Hit bottom, and cry your eyes out. The fun and games are over. Get serious, really serious. Get down on your knees before the Master; it’s the only way you’ll get on your feet.

Let’s get out of the “I’m no better than dirt” mentality, and know that God’s own breath breathed life into our mortal bodies! Don’t be tempted to trade the birthright of your salvation to the dust eater!
