I read a status that I agreed with, “I don’t post my opinions to change anyone’s mind but to let the people that think like I do know they are not alone.” That may not be an exact quote and since there was no credit given I don’t know who originated it, however I totally concur! I happened to agree with someone that made a statement about Jesus being the One true Son of God, a statement that anyone who knows me wouldn’t give wouldn’t give a second thought toward, and immediately I was accused of being a traitor to another person…no reason to go on with that, you get the point. It is the norm anymore for everyone to look for an argument. I am still astonished that people are rioting over the court decision in the Martin/Zimmerman case, how is destroying property of innocent people going to further their cause? Frankly I am sick of all the trouble I am hearing! When conversation around my grandparent’s table was unpleasant my granddaddy would say, “Children let’s talk about peaches and pears and apples”, in other words he was not going to put up with their unpleasant talk any longer! Proverb 25:11 “A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver.” Become aware of every word you say, realize that once it is spoken into the air it never goes away and it’s effect goes on and on like a long line of dominoes once tripped all falling down one after the other. Cruel words live in your mind forever, so do cold stares and haughty spirits; you just never forget being snubbed by someone you thought was a friend. I overheard an exchange recently, at first it was an equal give and take no foul no harm but suddenly one of the arguing persons ripped out an insult that was so searing you could almost see it leave their mouth and hit the intended target in the face. There was no returned words but I watched a face first freeze in astonishment then melt into tears as they just turned and left the room. I thought my heart would break but I wasn’t involved and didn’t interfere, however my sentiments went from being amused that they would sink to that level of childishness and both being equal in it to extreme disgust that someone would take the advantage or as we say “hit below the belt”. I would imagine that since we are made in the image of God my feeling probably mirrored the way He feels when He looks at us here on this one big globe that He put us on and hears all the name calling, the fighting, the extreme cruelty that goes on between all of us, His creation. Genesis 6:5-7 God saw that human evil was out of control. People thought evil, imagined evil—evil, evil, evil from morning to night. God was sorry that he had made the human race in the first place; it broke his heart. God said, “I’ll get rid of my ruined creation, make a clean sweep: people, animals, snakes and bugs, birds—the works. I’m sorry I made them.” I am wondering about now if He isn’t thinking the same thing now as He did in the days of Noah? It is only because Jesus died for our sins that we can approach Him readily as in Hebrews 4:14-16 “Now that we know what we have—Jesus, this great High Priest with ready access to God—let’s not let it slip through our fingers. We don’t have a priest who is out of touch with our reality. He’s been through weakness and testing, experienced it all—all but the sin. So let’s walk right up to him and get what he is so ready to give. Take the mercy, accept the help.” So in the now famous words of another person the world felt didn’t receive justice, Rodney King, “Why can’t we just all get along?” Because it will never happen as long as there is more than one person with an opinion, however we know that one day there will be peace, Isaiah 11:9 “Neither animal nor human will hurt or kill on my holy mountain. The whole earth will be brimming with knowing God-Alive, a living knowledge of God ocean-deep, ocean-wide.” Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me, Selah

The problem is most people do not realize just how powerful words are. Loved your post. Great eye open even when the eyes are supposedly open. Have a great and wonderful day in the Lord.
