It’s a given, you have to talk about the Super Bowl on Super Bowl Sunday, Right? As I am writing this, the game has started so we don’t now who the winner will be. My one “sports commentator” comment will be that if the rest of the game goes like the first few minutes with two major mistakes not the least of which the center snapped the ball over Manning’s head, the Seahawks might just have the win! Of course knowing the game by the time you read this it might have been a blowout for the Broncos so no more comment about that, we will just wait and see or as Gordon Solie used to say “It remains to be seen!”
This is the apex of the football season and the game that every team aspires to play at the beginning of the season! For Baseball teams the best of the best get to participate in the World Series. There has been a lot of pregame hype and upon asking my son if he was rooting for one team or just watching it for the commercials, he told me that he was rooting for the Broncos. I wondered why and he told me it was because after fourteen wonderful seasons with the Colts and being compared to the great Johnny Unitas he was unceremoniously fired! To come back with a vengeance and lead the Denver Broncos to the Super Bowl is fantastic and a win would be the perfect revenge, now wouldn’t it? I agreed! Even better would be if he were to be named as the MVP at the end of the game! He has already earned that title five times! What does a person have to do to earn that prestigious title? He will have to either run more yards, receive more passes, throw more passes that are received, in other words he will have to actually BE the M V P or Most Valuable Player!
I heard a statement that really startled me back when our President was still the “new” man in the Oval Office, it was that he was the most famous man in the history of the world! The most famous man in the HISTORY of the world! I am sorry, I have to disagree with that…leave out some of our more famous Presidents and Astronauts who made history by bringing an end to wars or something simple like walking on the moon, there is One man whose efforts absolutely trump Abe Lincoln, F.D.R, J.F.K, John Glenn, Neil Armstrong, Sir Alexander Fleming, the inventor of penicillin and many more wonderful and awesome things I could mention here. Who would that outstanding man be? You guessed it, Jesus Christ, Superstar!
You hear people say, “I think Jesus was just a great teacher.” He couldn’t be just that: No great teacher would claim to be God if he wasn’t. Either Jesus is conning 2.3 billion people who believe a lie, or Jesus is who He SAID He was! Who, exactly, did He say He was? John 14: 6 “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” What do you do with the truth once you have discovered it? You believe the truth, DO the truth, Stand for the truth and Spread the truth! Titus 2:7 “Let everything you do reflect your love of the truth and the fact that you were in dead earnest about it.” Notice that Jesus said, “I am the truth…” He doesn’t say truth is a religion, or a ritual, or a set of rules. He uses the word “I”! So then Truth is a person, His name is Jesus, my Superstar, the MVP in my life, who is yours?
Life is a game we play every day, to be successful you need to play the game of life with the best MVP, the one that can lead you to victory and that is Jesus Christ, Superstar!

Super bowl was a wash….God is the MVP to me….
