Are there Lords a Leaping?

10-lords-a-leapingSomething happened this past week that I have wanted to mention so I will no longer procrastinate, it’s about my grandson Gabriel’s fourteenth birthday! Seeing the sheer joy, the lack of self-consciousness in jumping up and down with excitement over seeing the cake, a replica of the Tardis which is Doctor Who’s space ship, his Auntie had made especially for him, and all of his wonderful gifts, it made me feel happy and old all at the same time!

It really is that leaping and dancing with joy that is missing from our lives, isn’t it? What would make you happy enough to leap and dance? Would it be freedom from debt, from pain and physical suffering, or a new love?

For the loved ones of those who have been murdered on city streets, or across the world fighting in wars they didn’t start it would be to have their lovers, spouses or children back in their arms.

For the Psalmist King David it was the opportunity to bring the Ark of the Covenant back home to its rightful place, he was so thrilled that he danced with great abandon, to the chagrin of his wife! I believe he was the original “Lord a Leaping”!

The ten lepers that Jesus cleansed were so happy that all except one went running off down the road without even stopping to say thank you!

For me I would have loved to see my dad able to stand up from that chair he was incarcerated in and simply have the strength to walk across the floor, God chose to give him the ultimate healing of taking him to heaven. My other wish would be to have a real conversation with my mother again and know for sure that she knew who I was.

I would love to see God brought back to His rightful place in our schools and in our churches and that can only happen if He is brought back to His rightful place at the head of our country, back to In God We Trust.

The way we can make a difference in our world is to start in our own home, to honor God by putting Him back as the head of your own household.

When the angels announced the birth of Jesus what did they say? Luke 2:10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. 13-14 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

I say as the lyrics of a song goes, “Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me, let there be peace on earth the peace that was meant to be. With God as our Father, brothers all are we, let me walk with my brother in perfect harmony.”

My wish for you my friend is that you have a very Merry Christmas and Peace in your heart, and leaping in your home!
