Who is leading you?

ImageI’m pretty sure that when you were young and “under your parent’s roof”, they might have said, “I don’t want you hanging out with XX, they are a bad influence on you!”“ If XXX jumped off a bridge would you do it too?” Point was they didn’t want us to be “led” into the temptation of doing wrong, getting with the wrong crowd. You think that because you’re an adult you don’t have to worry about hanging with the wrong crowd but who watches out for you now? Do you know your Bible well enough to know if your pastor or Bible teacher is leading you in a straight path to heaven, or if his/her lifestyle has influenced their doctrine? I’m not asking you to judge anyone, it’s just if you sit under the teaching of a Charismatic person you can be influenced to think like they do. Think of all the people who followed the infamous Jim Jones into committing suicide! It has become a catch phrase in our society to say someone is willing to “drink the Kool-aid.” To preach the Word or tell the truth, even if it is hurting you, is the sign of a real leader. OK so am I saying that the leader is responsible for our salvation, faith or belief system? Emphatically NO, that is wrong, YOU are the one that is responsible! Matthew 15:14 Leave them; they are blind guides. If a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit.” Jesus puts the responsibility squarely on our shoulders there! 2 Corinthians 4:4 If our Message is obscure to anyone, it’s not because we’re holding back in any way. No, it’s because these other people are looking or going the wrong way and refuse to give it serious attention. All they have eyes for is the fashionable god of darkness. They think he can give them what they want, and that they won’t have to bother believing a Truth they can’t see. They’re stone-blind to the dayspring brightness of the Message that shines with Christ, who gives us the best picture of God we’ll ever get. Sometimes we see the truth but a “feel good” Gospel is so much easier to swallow that we find ourselves being led down the “garden pathway” of lost souls. Luke 13:25-28 A bystander said, “Master, will only a few be saved?” He said, “Whether few or many is none of your business. Put your mind on your life with God. The way to life—to God!—is vigorous and requires your total attention. A lot of you are going to assume that you’ll sit down to God’s salvation banquet just because you’ve been hanging around the neighborhood all your lives. Well, one day you’re going to be banging on the door, wanting to get in, but you’ll find the door locked and the Master saying, ‘Sorry, you’re not on my guest list.’” You’ll protest, ‘But we’ve known you all our lives!’ only to be interrupted with his abrupt, ‘Your kind of knowing can hardly be called knowing. You don’t know the first thing about me.’” That’s when you’ll find yourselves out in the cold, strangers to grace. You’ll watch Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets march into God’s kingdom. You’ll watch outsiders stream in from east, west, north, and south and sit down at the table of God’s kingdom. And all the time you’ll be outside looking in—and wondering what happened. This is the Great Reversal: the last in line put at the head of the line, and the so-called first ending up last.” “Discernment” is like wearing night vision goggles in a totally black room! Sometimes it takes putting on those goggles in the darkened world in which we live to see what’s going on around us with any clarity at all! Pray for spiritual discernment because we are not talking about church membership here  we are talking about YOUR eternal soul’s salvation!

  2. Strangers to grace…The Great Reversal…Discernment is like wearing night vision goggles. WoW! All of these would preach! Powerful statements through words. Your writing is like the call into the wilderness..I have loved one’s in the wilderness and each time I reach out with an encouraging Word it is like the blinders have wrapped tightly around their mind and nothing penetrates. I continue to pray but their actions are like hamsters on a spinning wheel..they run to the same places over and over and wonder how they got there….repentance and deliverance is their only way out. Lord, teach us that repentance is not a bad word but restorative.

Thank you again for such a thought provoking Word!

    1. God bless you! If we all put our piece of the puzzle in the great picture will emerge as to what God is showing each of us separately. That’s why we should all work together then ” how happy we’ll be”! ❤
