I read about a woman who said she wished she could be 6 again, her husband overheard her and decided to treat her to a day at Six Flags and then to McDonald’s for a Happy Meal for dinner, and an ice cream cone for dessert! He did everything he could think of that would make a 6-year-old happy! When they finally got home after the park and fast food, she was so tired and said so…to which he remarked “well you wanted to be 6 again.” She realized what had happened and said “A SIZE 6 YOU IDIOT!”
The point was that we don’t really listen, even when we hear. It made me think about how we do misunderstand each other sometimes because we are used to listening while we are watching TV, helping with home work, cooking supper, doing the dishes, trying to simply go to the bathroom and sometimes through the bathroom door when you’re trying to bathe!
I just wonder how many times God tries to get our attention and we let His voice get lost in the noises of our life. There are times in this house that someone is talking while the dog is barking and the door bell sounds and the phone starts ringing…all at the same time! How can anyone make sense of anything in that kind of noise?
Have you ever wondered how God can pin point your voice distinctly and answer your prayer? Imagine all the noise of the universe, if my house is noisy I can’t imagine trying to hear with jets and rockets and stadiums full of people and then there are all the wars going on…the sounds of rifles and bombs, air rockets, people screaming, but then there is that lone soldier, maybe he is young and afraid and has never been away from home until he joined the service and he is hiding in a small place begging God to just get him out of there alive.
Well sweethearts, I have some good news for you, it is found in the book of Isaiah 65:24 For my people will be as long-lived as trees, my chosen ones will have satisfaction in their work. They won’t work and have nothing come of it, they won’t have children snatched out from under them. For they themselves are plantings blessed by God, with their children and grandchildren likewise God-blessed. Before they call out, I’ll answer, before they’ve finished speaking, I’ll have heard. I would say that has got to be one of His greatest miracles, it’s right up there with parting the Red Sea for Him to hear each of us individually and answer our particular prayer and I am here to say that He does JUST THAT!
That promise says that he hears us BEFORE we call and answers while we are still speaking, wow, so we, who are parents, would have to be god-like in order to hear all the things at once that we do, right?
Today there were two things that I desperately needed to find and I had put them away so well that I couldn’t find either of them. I walked into the room by myself and spoke to God and asked him to uncover where these items were, as I needed them so much! Meanwhile my mother came downstairs looking for her purse and wondered if she had left it in the car. I decided to take a break from the frustration of looking and go down to the car and take a peek, already KNOWING it wasn’t going to be there. I was right, her purse was NOT there, but guess what was there, BOTH items, one under the passenger seat and the other in the side pocket by my driver’s seat! So doing a good deed just to settle her mind was God’s way of taking me right to the place where the items I asked for…WERE!
While I was praying, she was looking for her purse, God already knew. Next time you need to talk to Him…just DO it! He hears and He answers and you don’t have to yell, He hears you!

Funny!! I really enjoy all that write. Thanx for all great stories.

One of the great mysteries of the Lord. All my life I have been amazed that He can hear our voice even before we speak. It is beyond belief when you realize how many people around the world are talking to Him in that moment. Then add to that the number those who are talking but not to Him. The other part is when consider all the years since Jesus came out of the grave. All the people who have died since that day make for a very large number. Stop & think He knows where every cell of each of those dead people are today. And when the trumpet sounds He is going to join them all together again on their way up from this place. When I get down & I start thinking about how big my God is these are two points I go to encourage myself. And in all that He has time every day to hear me, talk to me & take care of me beyond my biggest dreams. Truly we serve an awesome God. Can’t hardly wait to be in His presence for ever more. God bless. Notice no mention of the weather.
