I watched a video that gave me a clear visual of what it is like when we are tracked down and chewed on by the devil himself. There was a herd of Cape buffalo by a watering hole drinking water but not aware that right around the bend, hidden by a clump of bushes, was a Pride of Lions. The cameras were far enough away, on the other side of the small river, to get all of them in the same shot, I was able to see that as the Buffalo got nearer, the Lions began to crouch, they were not making a sound. They were silent, low to the ground, ears pitched toward the sound of the approaching animals. There were six lions and three buffalo, one of them a baby. As the big male buffalo got nearer suddenly his head went up as he saw the lions running toward him and he turned tail and ran, so did the female and the baby, the lions were faster than the baby and three of them pounced on him at one time, as he tried to escape by running into the water. They had a hold on him, each trying to stake their claim, when out of the water, a giant splash and two alligators were tugging at the poor baby from his hind section, the lions trying to get at his throat as he kicked and fought for his life, and two alligators catching hold of his legs! Lions on one-end alligators on the other! I was wondering why someone had sent this terrible video to me, my breath coming in quick, short burst of air, biting my nails and beginning to cry. I reached to shut it off when I saw the lions raise their heads looking at something! From the side of the picture I saw, not just the two adults that had been with the baby, but the WHOLE herd, running and snorting toward those lions that had one of their own in their grip. One large male ran toward the lion closest and with one quick movement of his head the lion was in the air, end over end, when he hit the ground he was running AWAY! The herd came closer and with the first success the rest gained courage and one by one the lions let their hold on the young one go, and as they started to run, SO DID HE! He was ALIVE! Saved by the herd!
One of them could not do the job, but the herd, in unity, chased them “ten ways from Sunday!” As he ran the herd surrounded him, protecting him because he was wounded.
Hebrews 10:25 So let’s do it—full of belief, confident that we’re presentable inside and out. Let’s keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going. He always keeps his word. Let’s see how inventive we can be in encouraging love and helping out, not avoiding worshiping together as some do but spurring each other on, especially as we see the big Day approaching. Psalm 133:1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
It is said that Christians are the only people who kill their wounded. Oh my God, I wish that wasn’t true, but I have seen it with my own brown eyes. Someone makes a mistake and the pack attacks! We must take a lesson from the Buffalo, when Satan attacks one of our own and they are being pulled apart by the lions and the alligators, we have to rush the devil head on and spear him with the sword of the Word. We must take the wounded and hide them in the safety of the herd and help them until their wounds heal. Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
I am crying out this message from a heart of love! Christians we must unite!
