What is that scar?

267537_223231677708623_141027525929039_770892_6706983_nI have heard that when a scar heals you are stronger in that area so I researched it and found that it is false. When your skin repairs the fiber composition is different, running in one direction instead of the basket weave of normal skin, Wow, too much information? One interesting thing I found is that humans, unless it is a very small wound will scar, but an animal does NOT scar, the fiber composition is exactly the same as before it was wounded, that made me wonder why, I know God had a plan in it, but couldn’t figure that out. Maybe we need to be reminded of the stupid things we have done so we won’t repeat it?

How many times, in your life, have you been injured? I have many injuries which include a long scar on my scalp which happened when I was thrown through a car windshield; from a collision with a swing I have an obvious scar between my lower lip and chin, and people always ask, “How did you get that scar”? Two glasses exploded in my hand nearly amputating my left thumb which left a long scar; I have signs of multiple other burns and cuts and if every cut, scrape and burn I had ever gotten still showed, I would look like the Bride of Frankenstein! Thankfully our bodies were made to heal. When my son tore the ACL in his left knee, a donor muscle replaced the torn muscle, it is held in place with titanium screws. It is serving him well and it has become his own.

When God created us from the dust of the earth, He blew His own breath into our nostrils we are His own. We were meant to subdue, to dominate the earth and all that was in it, but we sold ourselves short for the lust of the eye we had for the forbidden fruit. We were able to walk with God, to hear and see Him. God made us from the dust of the earth. When Satan deceived Eve, God told him he would crawl on his belly and eat the dust of the earth, dust of the earth? Yes and that dust of the earth is US!  Giving up our rights meant sickness, death and pain, but our bodies retained the ability to heal itself. I watched the flesh of my thumb repair, my skin knit together so beautifully that you really have to look close to even see the scar. My point is that we were made to heal.

Jesus reminded us of healing power when He healed the blind, made the lame man walk, cured the leper, cast out demons and raised the dead! John 14:12 “Believe me: I am in my Father and my Father is in me. If you can’t believe that, believe what you see—these works. The person who trusts me will not only do what I’m doing but even greater things, because I, on my way to the Father, am giving you the same work to do that I’ve been doing. You can count on it. From now on, whatever you request along the lines of who I am and what I am doing, I’ll do it. That’s how the Father will be seen for who he is in the Son. I mean it. Whatever you request in this way, I’ll do”.

I’ve seen many miracles of physical healing; the healing that is harder to see is the healing of the “heart”. Psalm 34:18 If your heart is broken, you’ll find God right there; if you’re kicked in the gut, he’ll help you catch your breath. Psalm 147:3 He heals the heartbroken and bandages their wounds. Proverbs 17:22 A merry heart does good, like medicine, But a broken spirit dries the bones. Even Jesus wept, over Jerusalem and at the death of His friend, Lazarus, but, when you let sadness and problems define you, you have moved out of the Garden all over again.

God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love and of a sound mind! 2 Timothy 1:7 A favorite old hymn says “He knows the bitter weary way, the endless striving day by day, the soul that weeps, the soul that prays, He knows, He knows. He knows how hard the fight has been, the clouds that come our lives between, the wounds the world has never seen, He knows, He knows.

Take your wounded, broken heart, to God, He’ll mend it and you won’t even see where the scars were! Just “wrap it all, in the rags of your life, and lay it at the cross.” Don’t hide from Him, He knows, He heals, Be Blessed!

Without scars what I have I learned in life? I see scars as evidence that we have been there done that & survived to battle another day. In the natural my body is covered with scars, some were accidents, some the results of surgery, others from sores & some from fighting. But they all tell a story. On the inside there are a lot of scars but by turning the situation over to the Lord He has healed the area & even removed some of the scars just to show me He cares for me. None of us like scars but none of us like living in a steel cage to prevent us from being hurt. If we step out we will incur scars, where we go from there depends on what kind of a person we are. My goal has been to learn from each scar I have received so that I am a better person inside & out so I can be of greater service to the Lord. I like the song “He Touched Me” for that very reason. Though I may have scars when He touches me He makes me whole & then I am of service to Him.
God bless you precious LADY. May you feel & rejoice in the love & joy of the Lord all day long.
