It takes Guts to live!

IMG_2511It is not easy to lay down your life and start all over again, even when the way you live it has been a struggle. There have been many people who have stayed with a partner that is abusive both mentally and physically, because they were afraid to step out and start over.

If you are in that position you should realize that it is not God’s will for you to live under anyone’s control or in fear because of an addiction to some dangerous substance or deviant behavior. Sometimes we are yanked out of our comfort zone but after some adjustments we find ourselves much happier and maybe more to the center of God’s perfect will for our life!

Are you afraid of a change in your life? Take a look at Moses! He was raised in the lap of luxury as the heir to the throne of Egypt and then he faced a choice, he could recognize his own heritage or to stay in the comfort zone of the palace of the Pharaoh. He chose to follow the hard path of identifying with his own people, which led him into the wilderness, the burning bush, where he listened to the voice of God, and to the deliverance of his people, the Children of Israel, out of slavery! He led them following the cloud by day and being protected by the fire at night, until they reached the Promised Land.

By faith Abraham left his home headed for an unknown destination where he would receive his inheritance and fathered a son when he was past age, and Sarah was barren!

There was a time when my parents left the comfort of an organization where they had the assurance of a church and a pension upon retirement, to follow the plan of God. They had no idea where the path would lead them but after “wandering in the wilderness” for a little while, ended up back here in our own “promised land”, Atlanta.

Jeremiah 29:11, For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Read that chapter verses 11-14, you will find that if we call, pray, seek and search for God with all our heart He will be found. Believe that He wants good things for you and has a plan for your life.

We can boast that we have wisdom, strength or even wealth and although these things are wonderful they are only temporary, it is only in knowing and understanding God that has any life-changing eternal value! The Lord delights in our coming to know His loving kindness, justice, and righteousness.

One important thing to remember is your need to prioritize the things you value, and cultivate dynamic devotion by placing God first!

Matthew 6:32-34, For your heavenly father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

What is the lesson here? 1. God has plans for our lives so 2. Put Him first 3. Don’t worry about what you need because God already has the list 4. He will take care of us because He has promised us a future and a HOPE! Learn to “conversate” with God, you will find that it is a two-way conversation! First you talk and then stop and listen to what He has to say to you!

As I said up front, it takes guts to live, but, you “can do all things through Christ who gives you strength” Philippians 4:13!

Put God first today and see what He has planned for you!

About harolene

Thank you for stopping by for a visit! If you read my thoughts you will see that I am sometimes serious, at other times sappy or funny, occasionally I am sad and sentimental, but I am always sincere! I am a single mother who raised two children, born ten years apart and different sexes so first it was bows and dolls, pretty dresses and boys! When my son was born it was rough and tumble games, baseball, soccer, wrestling and girls! I am known for my "smile" and for my default answer to any situation, "no problem", which was something I didn't realize I did until it was pointed out to me! I am a moon watcher and a star gazer. I am astounded and feel so small knowing that every creature that has ever walked the face of this earth has gazed upon that same beautiful orb that my eyes can behold on any night when the earth is not wearing her cloak of clouds. My parents have made me the person that I am. Their love, veracity in all areas of life, humor and passion for their work and each other have given me hope that my life can actually be a happy one! Chances are if you are reading this you already know all this but again, I appreciate your stopping by! While you're here hit the "Like" button for me and thanks for checking in!

  1. We all avoid changes and in the process end up compromising with our self respect, happiness and what not.
Ideally, we are doing more wrong to our own selves than anyone else can do..
Your post talks about all this truly and deeply..Good job!
