Then my living has not been in vain!

If I can help somebody as I pass along, If I can cheer somebody with a word or a song, If I can show love’s message to a world gone wrong, then my living shall not be in vain.

The words to that song conjure up memories that go so far back I can’t even remember and I remember events in my life all the way back to eighteen months old. All those old memories point to my dad singing it with mother playing the piano and “children”, singing the background. When my dad sang that song it was more than just words to my parents. They helped people in so many ways, with words of cheer, prayer, counsel, visitation in times of sickness, and the list goes on and on.  This is what they instilled in us, and doesn’t that sound like Jesus?

Jesus walked with His disciples and they saw the human man when He ate and slept and felt tired. They also saw the holy and compassionate side of Him as He ministered to the woman at the well, to the ten lepers who all went away healed even though only one came back to thank him. They saw him take five fishes and two loaves and feed five thousand people with enough left over for each disciple to have a basket for himself, and another time he fed four thousand. They saw him make the best wine of the evening from plain water and then saw the water in the sea become a floor for him to walk upon. They saw him spit in the mud and heal a blind man they also saw him tell a man to take up his bed and walk! There are too many wonderful things miracle to mention them all in this short article, but He did it all! He was empowered from the Father in Heaven and guess what? He gave us the power to do the same things! You didn’t know that? Read Mark 16: 15 Jesus commissioned us to “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature!” 16 We find that if we believe in His name and are baptized, we are saved! 17 says, “And these signs will follow those who believe”, then He lists the things that we as Christians and believers in His name, should see in our life all the time!

How many miracles have I seen happen in my life?  I tell you honestly that there have been many I have seen first hand, but it isn’t an everyday occurrence and it could be and should be happening because we have the right to exercise this miracle working power and the Holy Spirit is our advocate standing before the Father for us. It is very exciting when you think of it that way.

So what am I trying to say, what’s the point? Jesus helped “somebody”, everybody as he passed along and if I can help you by putting something into words that will encourage you, then that is what I want to do so that when my time on earth is over I will be able to say, as my dad used to sing, my living has not been in vain!

About harolene

Thank you for stopping by for a visit! If you read my thoughts you will see that I am sometimes serious, at other times sappy or funny, occasionally I am sad and sentimental, but I am always sincere! I am a single mother who raised two children, born ten years apart and different sexes so first it was bows and dolls, pretty dresses and boys! When my son was born it was rough and tumble games, baseball, soccer, wrestling and girls! I am known for my "smile" and for my default answer to any situation, "no problem", which was something I didn't realize I did until it was pointed out to me! I am a moon watcher and a star gazer. I am astounded and feel so small knowing that every creature that has ever walked the face of this earth has gazed upon that same beautiful orb that my eyes can behold on any night when the earth is not wearing her cloak of clouds. My parents have made me the person that I am. Their love, veracity in all areas of life, humor and passion for their work and each other have given me hope that my life can actually be a happy one! Chances are if you are reading this you already know all this but again, I appreciate your stopping by! While you're here hit the "Like" button for me and thanks for checking in!
