Sorry, got off topic here

I don’t think anyone loves going to the doctor, any doctor, but if you took a poll I am guessing that the one that people dread more than any other would be the dentist, am I right? Well today I had to be in the chair at my dentist office at nine o’clock. Now what is the next thing you don’t want to hear? It’s when the dentist looks at your through those glasses that have the little magnifying spot in each lens and with you laying flat of your back and him leaning over you it can be as if you are looking into the face of an alien, and when said alien is telling you, “I’m afraid I have some bad news…” that is the time to panic, for real. So for two solid, this is not hyperbole it is the actual time, I lay in that chair with every muscle in my body tensed and feeling like I was going to hyperventilate and throw up, an all around great experience! So when I say I would rather have a root canal than do (insert example) you know it’s something I really don’t want to do.

Have you ever said, “If there’s anything you need, anything at all just call me” and when you say it you mean it but then when that call comes and it is something that is going to greatly inconvenience you or better still cost you some of your dearly earned pennies you want to backtrack and find a way to get out of it.

There is a line from a song, “I Then Shall Live”, that says, “And when relationship demands commitment, then I’ll be there to care and follow through…” I have been, as I am sure you too have been, let down so many times by counting on promises made that were never meant to be kept by the people who made them; I want to be the person that never disappoints a person that is counting on me.

Then it speaks of a relationship that demands commitment and the desire to be there and follow through, that because I have been, as I am sure you too have been let down so many times. Promises that were never meant to be kept by the people who made them; I want to be the person that never disappoints a person that is counting on me.

If I didn’t say anything else I believe you would have something to consider and wonder if the “loves” in your life could count on you in a time of crisis.

Another line in that song by the Gaithers speaks of being able to love and forgive because you have been so greatly loved and forgiven, I know I have, have you? The song goes on to say, “and may you feed a hungry world through me…” Oh how I hope that I can give and help in a way that makes a real difference in someone’s life. God has been so good to us all, don’t be afraid for “fear builds walls instead of bridges” and we need to build bridges to each other, to reach out and pray for those around us. You don’t have to have a “laying on of hands” to do that, just call their name and ask God to help them.

I think I got on a little tangent right there, I started out talking about doing things you don’t want to do, well maybe you don’t want to be self sacrificing, however you might be surprised at how good one little act of selflessness will make you feel! Make someone else’s day today and you will find it makes yours too!

About harolene

Thank you for stopping by for a visit! If you read my thoughts you will see that I am sometimes serious, at other times sappy or funny, occasionally I am sad and sentimental, but I am always sincere! I am a single mother who raised two children, born ten years apart and different sexes so first it was bows and dolls, pretty dresses and boys! When my son was born it was rough and tumble games, baseball, soccer, wrestling and girls! I am known for my "smile" and for my default answer to any situation, "no problem", which was something I didn't realize I did until it was pointed out to me! I am a moon watcher and a star gazer. I am astounded and feel so small knowing that every creature that has ever walked the face of this earth has gazed upon that same beautiful orb that my eyes can behold on any night when the earth is not wearing her cloak of clouds. My parents have made me the person that I am. Their love, veracity in all areas of life, humor and passion for their work and each other have given me hope that my life can actually be a happy one! Chances are if you are reading this you already know all this but again, I appreciate your stopping by! While you're here hit the "Like" button for me and thanks for checking in!
