Time for a check up!

I have talked about faith and fear in the past couple of days, I think it’s time for a little check-up to see how we are doing, personally, you down for that? Let’s check out your faith and confidence levels.

I take my car in to be checked out and have the oil changed, if I put if off and something goes wrong with my car is it because the car is bad or because I neglected to get it checked? We haul our physical bodies into the doctor for check-ups, if you don’t you should, but what about your inner thoughts and feelings about your own self and where you stand with God?

Let’s sit back and take a look inside. Hiding over in the corner of your mind is guilt, guilt about all sorts of things big and little! With me I get guilty because I don’t mop my kitchen floor every day, because I fail on my diet or exercise plan, because I need to get paper-work done, been meaning to paint my room…for three years! All sorts of things crowd our mind and it is the devils delight to see us in a quandary and upset over so many things when our mind should be in a place of peace in the knowledge that God is our strength and help in times of trouble remembering “Underneath are the Everlasting Arms.” Deuteronomy 33:27 The eternal God is your refuge, and his everlasting arms are under you. He drives out the enemy before you; he cries out, ‘Destroy them!’

This promise is to those who rise above the earth-life and seek to soar higher, to the Kingdom of Heaven!

Don’t allow yourself to feel the burden of your failures, consider them as lessons and then go on in faith. The clouds will clear, the way will lighten, and the path will become less stony with every step you take. So, as the Apostle Paul said, run that you may obtain and success will crown your efforts! Sitting around and stewing over things gone wrong will just take you further down!

When Jesus healed someone, He didn’t reproach them, He just made them whole and free. The woman at the well was not overwhelmed when Jesus told her she already had five husbands and was not married to the man she was with now because He offered her living water! He told the woman taken in adultery, “Neither do I condemn you, go and sin no more.” She was not told to bear the burden of the consciousness of her sin! Remember the scripture says, now abides these three, Faith, Hope and Charity. Faith is your attitude towards God, Charity your attitude towards your fellowman, but Hope, so very necessary, is confidence in yourself to succeed, confidence that Jesus will help when you call on Him!

Philippians 4:13 For I can do everything through Christ, Who gives me strength!

OK, exam is all over with, did you look in all the hidden corners of your mind for doubt, did you inspect the back of your heart for hate or resentment? Did you give your heart and mind a through wash in Jesus’ blood? If you answered yes then great! You are given a clean bill of health for your spirit man!
