Do you have scars?

I have heard that when a scar heals you are stronger in that area however someone made that up for some unknown reason, because it is false. When your skin repairs the fiber composition is different, running in one direction instead of the basket weave of normal skin, Wow, too much information? One interesting thing I found is that humans, unless it is a very small wound will scar, but an animal does NOT scar, the fiber composition is exactly the same as before it was wounded, that made me wonder why, I know God had a plan in it, but couldn’t figure that out.

Maybe we need to be reminded of the stupid things we have done so we won’t repeat it?

How many times, in your life, have you been injured? I have been injured many times and have the scars to prove it, which includes a long scar on my scalp from being thrown through a car windshield; a collision between my chin and a see-saw swing that left me with an obvious scar between my lower lip and chin, and people always ask “how’d you get that scar”? Then two glasses exploded in my hand nearly amputating my left thumb leaving a long jagged scar; another scar across the middle finger of my left hand and another right above the ring on my ring finger. Recently I got splashed with bacon grease leaving three big blister scars on my chest and one on my cheek! If every cut, scrape and burn I had ever gotten still showed, I would look like the Bride of Frankenstein however our bodies were made to heal. When my son tore the ACL in his left knee and a donor replaced the torn muscle, which is held in place with titanium screws, it is serving him well, it has become his own.

When God created us from the dust of the earth He blew His own breath into our nostrils, we are His. We were meant to subdue, to dominate, the earth and all that was in it, but we sold ourselves short for the lust of the eye for the forbidden fruit. We were able to walk with God, to hear and see Him. God made us from the dust of the earth. When Satan deceived Eve, God told him he would crawl on his belly and eat the dust of the earth, dust of the earth? Right, that is US!

Giving up our rights meant sickness, death and pain, but our bodies retained the ability to heal itself. I watched the flesh of my thumb grow together, my skin knit together so beautifully that you really have to look close to even see the scar. Point, we were made to heal.

Jesus reminded us of healing power when He healed the blind, made the lame man walk, cured the leper, cast out demons and raised the dead! John 14:12 “Believe me: I am in my Father and my Father is in me. If you can’t believe that, believe what you see—these works. The person who trusts me will not only do what I’m doing but even greater things, because I, on my way to the Father, am giving you the same work to do that I’ve been doing. You can count on it. From now on, whatever you request along the lines of who I am and what I am doing, I’ll do it. That’s how the Father will be seen for who he is in the Son. I mean it. Whatever you request in this way, I’ll do.”

I’ve seen many miracles of physical healing; the healing that is harder to see is the healing of the “heart”. Psalm 34:18 If your heart is broken, you’ll find God right there; if you’re kicked in the gut, he’ll help you catch your breath. Psalm 147:3 He heals the heartbroken and bandages their wounds. Proverbs 17:22 A merry heart does good like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones.

Take your wounded, broken heart, to God, He’ll mends it and you won’t even see where the scars were! Just “wrap it all, in the rags of your life, and lay it at the cross.” Don’t hide from Him He knows and He will heal!

Thank you for stopping by for a visit! If you read my thoughts you will see that I am sometimes serious, at other times sappy or funny, occasionally I am sad and sentimental, but I am always sincere! I am a single mother who raised two children, born ten years apart and different sexes so first it was bows and dolls, pretty dresses and boys! When my son was born it was rough and tumble games, baseball, soccer, wrestling and girls! I am known for my "smile" and for my default answer to any situation, "no problem", which was something I didn't realize I did until it was pointed out to me! I am a moon watcher and a star gazer. I am astounded and feel so small knowing that every creature that has ever walked the face of this earth has gazed upon that same beautiful orb that my eyes can behold on any night when the earth is not wearing her cloak of clouds. My parents have made me the person that I am. Their love, veracity in all areas of life, humor and passion for their work and each other have given me hope that my life can actually be a happy one!
