There is power in agreement whether it is where you want to go eat lunch or especially if you have a prayer request. Amos 3:3 that says, “Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?”
There is nothing worse than having family members that have turned against each other and are no longer friends. I have seen it happen and usually no one can remember how it even got started! Proverbs 17:28 says, “Even fools are thought wise when they keep silent with their mouths shut, they seem intelligent.” Sometimes it is better to leave something unsaid rather than say it out loud exposing yourself to a) judgment b) ridicule c) opening a wound d) making yourself vulnerable. That list may be redundant, I just wrote it as I thought it.
We are neither Jesus, John the Baptist, Peter or Paul, they were able to call people vipers and hypocrites but they lived in a way that backed up their words. With us, we all live in glass houses so throwing stones is not only unwise, it is downright stupid.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 says, “Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm. But how can one be warm alone? ” When Jesus sent His disciples out to minister He sent them in pairs so they had help, back up and agreement! Matthew 18:19-20 “I also tell you this: If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you. For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.” To me that is a big deal! Answer to prayers come from agreement, so if you are not at peace with the people around you how can you expect to get answers to your prayers?
The way to keep the peace a lot of times is to simply guard your mouth!
