What was your “One moment in time”?

The lyrics to a song recorded by Whitney Houston was going through my mind, it says, “One moment in time“.  I thought about how one small incident can change the course of your whole life, and it makes you want to be cautious and very prayerful every day. One moment before the car I was driving was rear ended while sitting motionless waiting to make a left turn happily listening to my radio my car was smashed!

One day as I was working in my kitchen suddenly I heard a loud, booming thunderbolt, as it struck it seemed my house rocked on its foundation. I knew it had hit the upper corner, I could smell smoke so I went running upstairs to find it. The power had gone off so I was couldn’t see but when I got to the end of the hall and into my bedroom I was stumbling over debris of everything which was all over the floor because of the strength and power of the bolt that struck the house right behind my book-case. The fire department finally found us and determined that the fire was out. The next day in the daylight I could see that the beam, exposed because the sheet rock had been blown off, was the wood that had been on fire because it was charred black but had supernaturally gone out. The insurance man couldn’t believe his eyes and it gave me an opportunity to witness to him about God’s miracle in stopping my fully cedar wood house from burning to the ground.

I pray Psalm 91 over my household and family every day. Here are a few verses: That’s right—he rescues you from hidden traps, shields you from deadly hazards. His huge outstretched arms protect you-under them you’re perfectly safe; his arms fend off all harm. Fear nothing—not wild wolves in the night, not flying arrows in the day, not disease that prowls through the darkness, not disaster that erupts at high noon. He ordered his angels to guard you wherever you go. If you stumble, they’ll catch you; their job is to keep you from falling. You’ll walk unharmed among lions and snakes and kick young lions and serpents from the path.

Try to make all your ‘moments in time’ the best you can! “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me! Philippians 4:13
