You can do something you know you’re going to regret, but you do it anyway… then comes the guilt, that awful feeling in the pit of your stomach, wishing you could hit the re-wind button and fix it, but knowing that is impossible… then what? Your light goes out, maybe not completely out, yet, but dims a little. John 1:3-5 Everything was created through him; nothing—not one thing!—came into being without him. What came into existence was Life, and the Life was Light to live by. The Life-Light blazed out of the darkness; the darkness couldn’t put it out.Jesus came into the world and he was the Light. Matthew 5:14-16 Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven. Every now and then there is a phenomenon in the sky it is an eclipse. That is when the moon passes between the earth and the sun, completely blocking our light. Even chickens will begin to roost, thinking it is nighttime! When we let the ‘cares of this life’ come between the Sonshine, and us our light goes out! I was watching the light play, reflect, and change colors in the diamonds on my hand, the light playing off those stones was brilliant, I was enjoying the little fireworks display when the elevator door opened and I stepped out into the dark garage still looking at the rings but suddenly without light there was no sparkle, fireworks all gone, why? The light had gone out, they are only reflectors of light, there is no light within them, they cannot shine without being shined ON, therefore, the diamonds were no longer beautiful, they could have been simple pieces of glass. Reflector: a body, surface, or device that reflects light, heat, sound, or the like. If Jesus is the ‘light of the world’, then He shines on us. As Christians then, shouldn’t we act as reflectors of that light so that the light is then shined on others around us? Whenever you let anything come between you and the “Light”, yours automatically goes out, and you are no different than a piece of carbon lying within the walls of a cave, undiscovered to be the diamond that you really are. I have a Hurricane lamp saved for those times when the electricity goes out. Last time we had a storm I got the lamp just in case it went out but when I looked at it the glass was so smoky and dark I doubt the little flame would have given much of a light if we needed it. I took it out and gave it a good scrubbing it is now crystal clear, ready for use. Psalm 139:23-24 Investigate my life, O God, find out everything about me; Cross-examine and test me, get a clear picture of what I’m about; See for yourself whether I’ve done anything wrong—then guide me on the road to eternal life. If you have anything blocking you from the Light, get out the scrub cloth of the Holy Spirit and give yourself a good cleaning so that your reflector is clean and ready to reflect the Light of the world, Jesus Christ! This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine!

Thank you for stopping by for a visit! If you read my thoughts you will see that I am sometimes serious, at other times sappy or funny, occasionally I am sad and sentimental, but I am always sincere! I am a single mother who raised two children, born ten years apart and different sexes so first it was bows and dolls, pretty dresses and boys! When my son was born it was rough and tumble games, baseball, soccer, wrestling and girls! I am known for my "smile" and for my default answer to any situation, "no problem", which was something I didn't realize I did until it was pointed out to me! I am a moon watcher and a star gazer. I am astounded and feel so small knowing that every creature that has ever walked the face of this earth has gazed upon that same beautiful orb that my eyes can behold on any night when the earth is not wearing her cloak of clouds. My parents have made me the person that I am. Their love, veracity in all areas of life, humor and passion for their work and each other have given me hope that my life can actually be a happy one! Chances are if you are reading this you already know all this but again, I appreciate your stopping by! While you're here hit the "Like" button for me and thanks for checking in!
