“There are moments in your life that make you and sets the course of who you’re going to be. Sometimes they’re little, subtle moments and sometimes they are big moments you never saw coming. No one asks for their life to change, but it does. It’s what you do afterwards that counts. That’s when you find out who you are.”
As I am preparing to go to the wedding of a beautiful young couple I was thinking, “Is there anything I could say that would impact their life in a positive way?”I think the above quote (unknown) says it perfectly! I’m sure that in all of our lives we have things we would change if we could, however, if we were able to change those things how would it impact where we are right now? I have heard that we are the sum of everything that has happened to us and if that is true then we need to accept our past and then look forward to the future. If we have learned anything from our past mistakes now is the time to use that knowledge and make sure we don’t repeat them!
So I would say to the new couple, or anyone beginning a new relationship: Don’t sweat the small stuff, think about what you are going to say before it leaves the confines of your brain through that most powerful weapon of all, your tongue, if you are going to argue you should both get naked and stand in front of a mirror, it’s hard to argue while you are either laughing or making love and most important of all keep God first in your lives! Put all your decisions on the altar and ask for the guidance of the Holy Spirit and never forget the love you feel for each other today.
Isaiah 43:18
“Forget about what’s happened;
don’t keep going over old history.
Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new.
It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it?
