The last statement my ninety-five year old dad made publicly was giving advice on how to live your life to please God. It’s something we should all know but judging from the incidents of death by road rage, murders, robberies, divorces… oh why make a list, it’s easier to say we wouldn’t have all the miseries in this world if everyone did this.
What is it? Is it something too hard to achieve? Does it cost a lot of money?
Simple, it’s something Jesus said and my dad paraphrased it this way, “When you are dealing with a person, treat them exactly like you would want to be treated. Whether it’s your boss, a friend or your spouse you will be a happier person if you just do that one thing.”
It isn’t always the easiest thing to do, I know that and it will never be a widely spread practice however if we just started doing it one person at a time think how different our lives could be. Brings to mind the song from back in the day,
I’d like to teach the world to sing
In perfect harmony
I’d like to hold it in my arms
And keep it company
I’d like to see the world for once
All standing hand in hand
And hear them echo through the hills
For peace throughout the land
Sweet dreams, I’m off to bed
