Dancing in and out of my thoughts almost like tiny flickering elusive little fireflies that lite on the edge of clearly coming into focus in my mind’s eye are memories trying to catch my attention. I can almost clearly see the face of a loved one, the smile, can almost hear the cackling laugh but when I bat my eyes trying to get a better look the memory disappears waiting for another time to tease me. Maybe next time it’s the smell of certain cologne or a fleeting scent of a flower. It makes my heart ache as I reach out and try to call it back. The dreams are the best, they bring all the memories into focus and for a few moments during the night I have made right decisions and all is well.
Yesterday’s gone, tomorrow never comes, what will you do with your life today?
James 4:13-15 Nothing but a Wisp of Fog
And now I have a word for you who brashly announce, “Today—at the latest, tomorrow—we’re off to such and such a city for the year. We’re going to start a business and make a lot of money.” You don’t know the first thing about tomorrow. You’re nothing but a wisp of fog, catching a brief bit of sun before disappearing. Instead, make it a habit to say, “If the Master wills it and we’re still alive, we’ll do this or that.”
