We go to the doctor and get a full report on everything we need to do for our health. We listen and maybe even decide we are going to do better but as soon as we go by the fast food places and smell the aroma of fried chicken or burgers and fries our resolve goes out the window, or perhaps just goes into next week, after Monday.
We listen to financial advice and think about having a better savings plan but that new car is so shiny or the upgrade to better lifestyle tempts us to spend above our paygrade and there we go stepping deeper in the same old rut.
We go to church and listen to a sermon and as we leave the words of the preacher escape our thoughts and if someone asked you an hour later what the sermon was about you might say, “hmmm it was something about Jesus”.
For most things it might be ok, our diet or health program can be put on hold and we don’t suffer any harm or maybe we will get back on our savings program and actually put a little money into an IRA…but the last thing I mentioned is the one you cannot let escape your mind because it isn’t about losing your health or money, it’s about losing your eternal soul.
I heard a Word pour forth last night from a person that I highly respect and I took that word to heart.
Bottom line, Jesus is coming soon.
John the Baptizer warned the people of his day…
John 1:6-8 There once was a man, his name John, sent by God to point out the way to the Life-Light. He came to show everyone where to look, who to believe in. John was not himself the Light; he was there to show the way to the Light.
John did the job he was born to do and lost his head as payment, but gained a greater life eternal.
What does the scripture say?
John 1:1-2 1-2 The Word was first,
the Word present to God,
God present to the Word.
The Word was God,
in readiness for God from day one.
V 15 The Word became flesh and blood,
and moved into the neighborhood.
We saw the glory with our own eyes,
the one-of-a-kind glory,
like Father, like Son,
Generous inside and out,
true from start to finish.
I am not comparing myself to any of the disciples, a prophet, preacher or a Sunday school teacher, I am just a woman who has seen the other side and I know that it’s real and I know that this Word, God in the flesh Jesus is going to come when people are thinking, as the Bible tells us in…
2Peter 3:4 First off, you need to know that in the last days, mockers are going to have a heyday. Reducing everything to the level of their puny feelings, they’ll mock, “So what’s happened to the promise of his Coming? Our ancestors are dead and buried, and everything’s going on just as it has from the first day of creation. Nothing’s changed.”
Whether you receive this Word as truth and ask God to help you be ready, or listen, think on it and forget all about it I have delivered it to you… I have done what I was supposed to do.
John 3:16-18 “This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trusts in him is acquitted; anyone who refuses to trust him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it. And why? Because of that person’s failure to believe in the one-of-a-kind Son of God when introduced to him.
