It is not easy to lay down your life and start all over again, even when the way you live it has been a struggle. There have been many people who have stayed with a partner that is abusive both mentally and physically, because they were afraid to step out and start over.
If you are in that position you should realize that it is not God’s will for you to live under anyone’s control or in fear because of an addiction to some dangerous substance or deviant behavior. Sometimes we are yanked out of our comfort zone but after some adjustments we find ourselves much happier and maybe more to the center of God’s perfect will for our life!
Are you afraid of a change in your life?
Take a look at Moses! He was raised in the lap of luxury as the heir to the throne of Egypt and then he faced a choice, he could recognize his own heritage or to stay in the comfort zone of the palace of the Pharaoh. He chose to follow the hard path of identifying with his own people, which led him into the wilderness, the burning bush, where he listened to the voice of God, and to the deliverance of his people, the Children of Israel, out of slavery! He led them following the cloud by day and being protected by the fire at night, until they reached the Promised Land.
By faith Abraham left his home headed for an unknown destination where he would receive his inheritance and fathered a son when he was past age, and Sarah was barren!
There was a time when my parents left the comfort of an organization where they had the assurance of a church and a pension upon retirement, to follow the plan of God. They had no idea where the path would lead them but after “wandering in the wilderness” for a little while, ended up back here in our own “promised land”, Atlanta.
Jeremiah 29:11, For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future
We can boast that we have wisdom, strength or even wealth and although these things are wonderful, they are only temporary, it is only in knowing and understanding God that has any life-changing eternal value! The Lord delights in our coming to know His loving kindness, justice, and righteousness.
One important thing to remember is your need to prioritize the things you value and cultivate dynamic devotion by placing God first!
Matthew 6:32-34, For your heavenly father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
What is the lesson here?
1. God has plans for our lives so… 2. Put Him first… 3. Don’t worry about what you need because God already has the list… 4. He will take care of us because He has promised us a future and a HOPE!
Learn to talk with God, you will find that it is a two-way conversation! First you talk and then stop and listen to what He has to say to you!
It takes guts to live, but you “can do all things through Christ who gives you strength” Philippians 4:13!
Put God first today and see what He has planned for you!
