A Wounded Heart

img_3462.jpgHow many times in your life have you been injured? I have many injuries some of them are: being thrown through a car windshield which gave me a long scar on my scalp; getting hit in the mouth because I walked behind a see-saw swing leaving a scar between my lower lip and chin; I had two glasses which I took out of the dish washer hot and they exploded in my hand nearly amputating my left thumb, I have a long scar from the top of my thumb down into my hand; I have multiple other burns and cuts and if every cut, scrape and burn I had ever gotten still showed, I would look like the Bride of Frankenstein, however, our bodies were made to heal.

When my son tore the ACL in his left knee, a donor ACL was placed in the torn muscle’s place and fastened to the bone with titanium screws and it is serving him well and it has become his own. When God created us from the dust of the earth, He blew His own breath into our nostrils giving us life and making us His own.

We were meant to subdue and to dominate the earth and all that was in it,  in other words we sold ourselves short for the lust of the eye for the forbidden fruit. We were able to walk with God, to hear and see Him. God made us from the dust of the earth. When Satan deceived Eve, God told him he would crawl on his belly and eat the dust of the earth, dust of the earth, right… US!  Giving up our rights meant that we were now open to sickness, death and pain, but our bodies retained the ability to heal itself. I watched the flesh of my thumb grow together, my skin knit together so beautifully that you really have to look close to even see the scar.

Point, we were made to heal. Jesus healed the blind He made the lame man walk, cured the leper, cast out demons and raised the dead! John 14:12 “Believe me: I am in my Father and my Father is in me. If you can’t believe that, believe what you see—these works. The person who trusts me will not only do what I’m doing but even greater things, because I, on my way to the Father, am giving you the same work to do that I’ve been doing. You can count on it. From now on, whatever you request along the lines of who I am and what I am doing, I’ll do it. That’s how the Father will be seen for who he is in the Son. I mean it. Whatever you request in this way, I’ll do.”

I’ve seen many miracles of physical healing, but what is harder to see is the healing of the “heart”, yes I have several scars there also!

Psalm 34:18 If your heart is broken, you’ll find God right there; if you’re kicked in the gut, he’ll help you catch your breath.

Psalm 147:3 He heals the heartbroken and bandages their wounds.

Proverbs 17:22 A merry heart does good, like medicine, But a broken spirit dries the bones.

Jesus showed emotion when He wept over Jerusalem and at the death of His friend, Lazarus, but, when you let sadness and problems define you, you have moved out of the Garden all over again.

God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love and of a sound mind! 2 Timothy 1:7

A favorite old hymn says, “He knows the bitter weary way, the endless striving day by day, the soul that weeps, the soul that prays, He knows, He knows. He knows how hard the fight has been, the clouds that come our lives between, the wounds the world has never seen, He know, He knows.”

Take your wounded, broken heart, to God, He will mend it and you won’t be able to see where the scars were!

Just “wrap it all, in the rags of your life, and lay it at the cross.” Don’t hide from Him, He knows, He heals, God gave you His best gift, the gift of His own Son, let’s celebrate His birth with Joy and new commitment!

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas

About harolene

Thank you for stopping by for a visit! If you read my thoughts you will see that I am sometimes serious, at other times sappy or funny, occasionally I am sad and sentimental, but I am always sincere! I am a single mother who raised two children, born ten years apart and different sexes so first it was bows and dolls, pretty dresses and boys! When my son was born it was rough and tumble games, baseball, soccer, wrestling and girls! I am known for my "smile" and for my default answer to any situation, "no problem", which was something I didn't realize I did until it was pointed out to me! I am a moon watcher and a star gazer. I am astounded and feel so small knowing that every creature that has ever walked the face of this earth has gazed upon that same beautiful orb that my eyes can behold on any night when the earth is not wearing her cloak of clouds. My parents have made me the person that I am. Their love, veracity in all areas of life, humor and passion for their work and each other have given me hope that my life can actually be a happy one! Chances are if you are reading this you already know all this but again, I appreciate your stopping by! While you're here hit the "Like" button for me and thanks for checking in!
