You are only asleep

Death has visited but it has no power over the eternal spirit. The Bible tells us in the book of Ecclesiastes 3:1-2  To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die;

Now I lay me down to sleep. I pray the Lord my soul to keep. If I should die before I wake, I pray to God my soul to take. If I should live for other days, I pray the Lord to guide my ways.

I hit “sleep” on my search engine and a wonderful explanation came up, who would think I would need an explanation for something as common as sleep? This is what I found: Sleep is a naturally recurring state characterized by reduced or absent consciousness, relatively suspended sensory activity, and inactivity of nearly all voluntary muscles. It is distinguished from quiet wakefulness by a decreased ability to react to stimuli, and is more easily reversible than being in hibernation or a coma. Sleep is a heightened anabolic state, accentuating the growth and rejuvenation of the immune, nervous, skeletal, and muscular systems. It is observed in all mammals, all birds, and many reptiles, amphibians, and fish.  We have sleep to renew our body; we have to sleep for our body to heal properly. (Reference Wikipedia)

Then I looked in the Bible for a verse I have heard often, Psalm 127:1-2 Unless the Lord builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the Lord guards the city, The watchman stays awake in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows; for so He gives His beloved sleep.

There are times that I lie down and don’t even remember my head hitting the pillow, I sleep so sound and then in the early morning hours it seems that my dreams and visions take over telling me things that I don’t get still enough during the waking hours to notice, so to me sleep is a wonderful thing and I wish I could get more hours of sleep every night.

When a person dies their body goes to sleep and they walk out of that envelope of flesh into eternity, it isn’t a bad thing it’s an adventure into your eternal life. I have had visitations from loved ones that have gone into eternity and I’m here to tell you that they are alive and well. There was a lady who walked into the light leaving two young adults behind to fend for them after having been lovingly cared for their whole life. The first Mother’s Day after she left I was up getting ready for church, making up my face. As I sat there she spoke to me, I heard her clearly in my left ear, she told me to call her children and tell them they had better NOT wear white flowers to church because she was not dead and that she would be very displeased if they did that.  It was a hard call to make as I didn’t want to be thought of as a “crazy lady” or a Medium, I am neither, but I did call and related that message as clearly as I could. I spoke with her son who told me that someone had sent them red flowers “by mistake” and they didn’t know what to do about it, their mother had seen their distress and their problem was solved, red flowers it was!

My grandfather has come to me in times of stress and given me words that I needed to hear so I know, yes I KNOW that they are living on another plane and that when I make that same step into eternity I will see them and know them.

If you have had a miscarriage, or believe it or not an abortion, the soul of that child is waiting on you as I found out one day when I went to visit a lady that was dying. Standing in that room I “saw” two children standing at the foot of her bed and just seemed to be waiting. I asked if she had any other children than the three that I knew, her daughter quickly spoke saying that No there were no other children. I wondered who they were and found out when her sister followed me out and told me that yes she had two miscarriages before her other children were born and they just never knew about it. Isn’t it a wonderful thing to know?

God is too good to do wrong and too wise to make a mistake and I know when it is time for me to “lay me down to sleep”, my eternal sleep, I will not be gone I will have changed my address from earth to Glory.

Don’t let anyone make you fearful or tell you that when you die there is nothing out there, I have seen it up close and personal and if you have ever believed anything I have said then believe this, Jesus said in John 14:1-4 “Don’t let this throw you. You trust God, don’t you? Trust me. There is plenty of room for you in my Father’s home. If that weren’t so, would I have told you that I’m on my way to get a room ready for you? And if I’m on my way to get your room ready, I’ll come back and get you so you can live where I live.

It is not a fearful thing to go to sleep in Jesus.

When you lay your head down tonight say the little prayer and when you get to the part “if I should die before I wake I pray the Lord my soul to take”, know that you are in the hand of the Almighty God and that means every thing will be all right!

Thank you for stopping by for a visit! If you read my thoughts you will see that I am sometimes serious, at other times sappy or funny, occasionally I am sad and sentimental, but I am always sincere! I am a single mother who raised two children, born ten years apart and different sexes so first it was bows and dolls, pretty dresses and boys! When my son was born it was rough and tumble games, baseball, soccer, wrestling and girls! I am known for my "smile" and for my default answer to any situation, "no problem", which was something I didn't realize I did until it was pointed out to me! I am a moon watcher and a star gazer. I am astounded and feel so small knowing that every creature that has ever walked the face of this earth has gazed upon that same beautiful orb that my eyes can behold on any night when the earth is not wearing her cloak of clouds. My parents have made me the person that I am. Their love, veracity in all areas of life, humor and passion for their work and each other have given me hope that my life can actually be a happy one!
