There are so many different kinds of pain and ways that we experience it, like physical pain when you hurt yourself or a disease that causes it; then there is the kind you feel in your heart when you lose someone you love through death or abandonment, or the loss of a longtime friendship through some kind of misunderstanding. Our body is designed so that pain is the warning signal telling us something is wrong, something we need to check on or change, like the new walking shoes I was trying to break in, I’m here to tell you that the shoes won and gave me a blister which told me I needed to wear a thicker pair of socks before I put those shoes back on! If you have a pain on the left side of your chest, you will think you are having a heart attack and go to the emergency room. These are warning signals given to us by our body saying we that need to pay attention.
God has been giving us warning signals for years that His coming is near but, as was prophesied by the Apostle Peter, 2 Peter 3:4 First off, you need to know that in the last days, mockers are going to have a heyday. Reducing everything to the level of their puny feelings, they’ll mock, “So what’s happened to the promise of his Coming? Our ancestors are dead and buried, and everything’s going on just as it has from the first day of creation. Nothing’s changed.”
He may come for you or me before He comes through the clouds for all Christians! In May of 2013 and Christmas of 2014 both of my parents went to their heavenly home and someone who was so close to my heart went home this year, and now they are in that great cloud of witnesses! Sometimes I just wish and pray that I could go be with them, and one day maybe sooner than later, I will! Hebrews 12:1-3 “Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we’d better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he’s there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls!”
We know right from wrong but sometimes we just choose the wrong path anyway! It is our responsibility to not only search out and find the path the Lord wants us to take, but to lead others, especially our young people, to the right path! We have to do more than just tell them about the good paths, but take them there, show them the way!
Jeremiah 6:16 God’s Message yet again: “Go stand at the crossroads and look around. Ask for directions to the old road, the tried-and-true road. Then take it.
Give it some thought; are you experiencing a warning pain that is saying maybe you need to try if not thicker socks, a different path?
