An old saying came to my mind that I couldn’t quite remember so I typed it into a search engine and found out something that was very interesting! The saying is, “Be careful how you treat people on your way up, because you see the same people on the way down as well.” The interesting fact is this statement’s origin, I found that it was written in the Torah, and is a quote from the great-grandson of Levi! Again I thought of how life is like the Ferris Wheel, there are people trying to climb the ladder of success, while some are already at the top, climbers are coming up, others going back down to retirement, either voluntary or forced, everyone would love to stay at the top and just float. Quoted from Rabbi Pinchas Winston: “Whether you like it or not, your success always depends on other people, and just the way you do not want to be used or abused, neither do the people you are dealing with, so you need to be nice! Nasty people might get ahead and claw their way to the top, but can it really be called success if no one else is happy about their accomplishments?” Since we are such emotional people, and because our happiness is so dependent upon what others think of us, who can truly be happy if they are hated? It’s like having a lot of money and no one to spend it with, you may enjoy the pleasures you can build your outside world with, but can you be happy if your inner world is miserable? Usually this kind of person is insecure and that isn’t even their fault. It probably comes from unresolved issues from childhood. This type of person is easily hurt and offended and quickly become resentful, frustrated, and angry. As a result, some become reclusive, while others become offensive.

Proverbs 18:24 There are “friends” who destroy each other, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother.
Jesus talked to His disciples one on one in John 15, if we could live by that chapter and believe it, there would be nothing we could not see accomplished. Verse 12-15 This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you. There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command.
