If I Could

Probably one of the last albums that I actually bought instead of downloading was Michael Bolton’s Vintage. I slid it into the cd slot and listened as he started to sing, it sounded as if tears were on the edge of his voice and as I listened to the lyrics there were tears on my cheeks. My children were both brought up in the household of faith and know the values of prayer, but have both been discouraged by events that have transpired in each of their lives to the point of great sadness. The song that was playing was verbalizing something I wanted to tell both of my adult children, so I dedicate it to them and to all of you who call me Mama H or read me everyday in hopes of a word of encouragement. I am here to tell you that God is real, that he has your and my problems in the palm of His hand, that He knows us each by name and that the answer is on the way.

Because of laws concerning usage of all the lyrics I will give you the beginning ones, the ones that caught at my heart and I am posting the link of Mr. Bolton himself singing it shared from my YouTube account. Do yourself a favor and listen.

If I Could I’d protect you from the sadness in your eyes, Give you courage in a world of compromise Yes I would. If I could I would teach you all the things I’ve never learned And I’d help you cross the bridges that I’ve burned, Yes I would  If I could

I can’t but I know Who can!
