There are rules that we have to follow, we are used to it because we have done it for our whole life. I read this week that the reason babies first word is usually ‘no’ is because that is what they hear the most. Rules are for our safety and protection even though they seem binding. There are organizations and clubs that have rules you have to follow in order to be a member and you don’t question them you just do them because you want to be part of a group. So why do some find it so hard, binding, restricting to follow the rules we have in Exodus chapter 20, you know what that is right? The Ten Suggestions? Did I get that right?

The first one suggests that we have no other gods before us. As I read the scripture it says that God is a jealous God. I understand jealousy, I have felt the sting. When I hear people say there are other paths or ways, or a lot of different roads that lead to God I want to scream out, NOOOO!!
John 14:6-7 Jesus said, “I am the Road, also the Truth, also the Life. No one gets to the Father apart from me. If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him. You’ve even seen him!”
Yes Jesus died to save the whole world, that is true, however a person has to accept Him as Lord and Savior in order to appropriate that salvation.
I can tolerate others but do they tolerate me?
I call on God or use the name of Jesus not as a curse or by-word but as a prayer and I welcome any one to call on the name of Jesus with me. He is the only way and by the way, that’s not a suggestion, it is a command.
