The Devil and the Duck!

There is a little story I want to share with you which gives us a good “life lesson”.

Once upon a time there was a little brother and sister, Jake and Sally, and they went to visit their grandparents who lived down on the farm. Young Jake was doing his best to learn how to use a slingshot and had practiced all day trying to hit an old tin can but continued to miss it. He heard Grammy calling him in to supper so he took his slingshot and started up toward the house when he saw Grammy’s duck standing by the fence. Suddenly he just took his sling shot and flung a stone at the duck. To his shock and awe, he hit the duck square in the head and it fell over… dead! Jake was so sorry and didn’t know what to do so he took the duck and hid it behind the woodpile. When he looked up, Sally was standing there and she had seen the whole incident but hadn’t said a word. They went in to supper and afterwards Grammy asked Sally to help her wash the dishes. Sally looked at Jake and said “Oh Grammy, Jake said he wanted to help,” then she walked past Jake and whispered, “Remember the duck?” Next day grandpa asked Jake to go fishing with him while Grammy and Sally fixed dinner but again Sally spoke up and said, “Oh Jake wants to help her cook, so I will go fishing with you!” and again whispered “Remember the duck?” After about a week of this Jake went to his grandmother and came clean with the whole story of the duck. His Grammy took him in her arms and said “Jake, I knew that, I saw it all from the kitchen window. I forgave you because I love you, I just wondered how long you were going to let Sally make you her slave!”

Well, dear reader, I am telling you that the Devil has thrown accusations at us having seen all our sins, bad thoughts, everything we have done that we are ashamed of, and he throws it up to us often and threatens to tell on us. But remember, God is watching us from His heavenly window and has already forgiven us for everything we did or imagined and is just waiting to see how long we are going to allow the Devil to make us his slave!

John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

How long are you going to let the Devil throw things at you and make you his slave? Jesus died to set you free and there are no secrets between you and God, He saw everything you did and loves you anyway!

Satan is our accuser and he will soon be bound!

Revelation 12:10 Then I heard a loud voice shouting across the heavens, “It has come at last—salvation and power and the Kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters has been thrown down to earth—the one who accuses them before our God day and night.

Don’t let Satan accuse you of anything, throw it right back at him and say, “Jesus was crucified, he rose again, He went to Hell and took the keys away from you! I am free!
