Ready or Not…

I heard a story that touched me on so many levels, first as a mom and grand-mom also as a witness to the fact that I believe Jesus is coming soon and I want to share it with you.

A five year-old boy was portraying Jesus in a church Easter production. He had learned his lines and walked out onto the stage wearing his dad’s white t-shirt, which came almost to the floor and an itchy beard. He knelt down by a big “rock” depicting Jesus in the Garden and said, “Father I don’t want to die but I will if you want me to, I will do anything you want me to do.”   Now the soldiers came and placed him on a cardboard cross, he held out his little hands with lipstick in the palms and said, “I’m thirsty, I need some water” he then closed his eyes and died.  The soldiers came and put him in the big “tomb” and we could see through the cracks in it that he had his eyes tightly shut. Three small three year-old girls were at the tomb crying when “Jesus” walked out and said, “Don’t cry, I’m alive!”  When they looked up he ran back into the tomb, to the chagrin of his parents, and yelled loudly, “READY OR NOT HERE I COME!”

When I heard that as “We Shall Behold Him”was playing in the background I burst into tears as I realized how true it is, whether we are ready or not He is going to come back through the clouds…

Matthew 26:64

Jesus was curt:“You yourself said it. And that’s not all. Soon you’ll see it for yourself:         The Son of Man seated at the right hand of the Mighty One,
Arriving on the clouds of heaven.”
