I am telling the truth, now it’s up to you!

It is a beautiful Friday evening here in the metropolis of Mableton and as I sit here with my trusty, if old, Mac on my lap and the twins in their highchairs eating Nutragrain bars and watching the ABC’s being taught there is something important I want to say and it can’t wait another minute.  I wish I could write in a font large enough to demand everyone’s attention but that wouldn’t leave room for the scripture and that is the most important part of what I want to say.

I know many people who teach that there are many paths to God and since that is simply a lie I cannot sit back and expect everyone to find the scriptures that refute that lie. I won’t make any other comment except that Jesus is Lord and He is the Gate, the Only Door that leads to God and anyone who claims to know of or claims to be another way is deceiving you and that deceit could cost you your very salvation, life eternal. So read these scriptures, which I have chosen to print here in the Message wording because it plainly states it so that even an elementary school student can understand. My love for you and my desire that you should know the truth prompts this perhaps haphazard delivery of the truth.

We know that Jesus is referred to as the “Good Shepherd” and He uses that analogy here to teach those listening a lesson about exactly Who He is… Jesus is the Son of the living God and the one and ONLY way to enter into the Kingdom of heaven.

John 10:1-5 The Message (MSG)

“Let me set this before you as plainly as I can. If a person climbs over or through the fence of a sheep pen instead of going through the gate, you know he’s up to no good—a sheep rustler! The shepherd walks right up to the gate. The gatekeeper opens the gate to him and the sheep recognize his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he gets them all out, he leads them and they follow because they are familiar with his voice. They won’t follow a stranger’s voice but will scatter because they aren’t used to the sound of it.”

John 10:6-10 The Message (MSG)

Jesus told this simple story, but they had no idea what he was talking about. So he tried again. “I’ll be explicit, then. I am the Gate for the sheep. All those others are up to no good—sheep stealers, every one of them. But the sheep didn’t listen to them. I am the Gate. Anyone who goes through me will be cared for—will freely go in and out, and find pasture. A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of.

Read and understand that Jesus is the Good Shepherd and He is calling you, He will lead you into green pastures and let your soul be restored by the still waters! Psalm 23

  1. The truth that there is a prescribed path to God starts all the way back in Genesis with Cain and Abel. That there is but ONE way to God the Father is threaded throughout the Bible;that way being the Son, Jesus of Nazareth. Great post!
