Thanksgiving Monday 2020

I want everything to be right for my Thanksgiving meal so that when my family pushes away from the table and goes home and I look at the remains of the day, I will know that I did my best to make everyone’s Thanksgiving in this home a happy one.

Now I’m thinking about you, the person who actually takes the time to read me during this busy holiday time.

I wonder if you are happy, busy, lonely, unhappy, depressed?

Sometimes the loneliest place is in the middle of a crowd.

We used to move so often as a preacher’s family, that it was hard to make new friends at new schools and at lunch time when everyone was saving places at their tables for friends, I would take something and go to the restroom and into a booth, close the door and sit on the toilet to eat by myself because I was embarrassed to approach a crowd of people and young people seldom reach out to someone new. So, I know how it feels to be lonely and just wish the time to be over.

I have some good news, God loves you and knows exactly where you are, right this very minute! If he knows the number of hairs on your head and sees a sparrow fall to the ground, then you can bet your last quarter that He see YOU!

Isaiah 41:10-13 ‘You’re my servant, serving on my side. I’ve picked you. I haven’t dropped you. ‘Don’t panic. I’m with you. There’s no need to fear for I’m your God. I’ll give you strength. I’ll help you. I’ll hold you steady, keep a firm grip on you. “Count on it: Everyone who had it in for you will end up out in the cold—real losers. Those who worked against you will end up empty-handed, nothing to show for their lives. When you go out looking for your old adversaries you won’t find them—Not a trace of your old enemies, not even a memory. That’s right. Because I, your God, have a firm grip on you and I’m not letting go. I’m telling you, ‘Don’t panic. I’m right here to help you.’ You are never alone, no matter how “by yourself” you are.

There are times I feel like the third wheel but look at this verse…Thanksgiving

Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Those were promises from the Old Testament, now let me give you some from the New… Hebrews 13:5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”

So, you see you are never alone, no matter what you feel, you have to know that God has sent His angels to keep a guard over you to keep you in all your ways!

Read this excerpt from Psalm 91: Evil can’t get close to you; harm can’t get through the door. He ordered his angels to guard you wherever you go. If you stumble, they’ll catch you; their job is to keep you from falling. You’ll walk unharmed among lions and snakes and kick young lions and serpents from the path.

I am thankful for my family and I am thankful for you too!
