God has given us so many promises and yet it seems that when we pray we actually doubt that He will answer us!
He supplied water for the Children of Israel in the middle of the desert and sent meat when they tired of the Manna that He had provided for them every day.
For forty years their shoes did not wear out and they didn’t have to have new clothes!
Provision?
Yes, I would say so.
He protected them when the army of Pharaoh was chasing them into the sea and when the army kept coming God simply opened the sea for them to walk through on dry land and then closed it again when the army got in the very middle of the water,
right over their heads,
horses, chariots, and all! Yet we shake in our boots over things every day that He could easily take care of for us.
We are promised everything that we need in Psalm 23, look at God’s promise and hear Him as He says, “I will never leave you, I will never forsake you, I will be with you until the end of time”.
“God, my shepherd! I don’t need a thing. You have bedded me down in lush meadows, you find me quiet pools to drink from. True to your word, you let me catch my breath and send me in the right direction. Even when the way goes through Death Valley, I’m not afraid when you walk at my side. Your trusty shepherd’s crook makes me feel secure. You serve me a six-course dinner right in front of my enemies. You revive my drooping head; my cup brims with blessing. Your beauty and love chase after me every day of my life. I’m back home in the house of God for the rest of my life.”
I don’t want Him to have to tell me more than once; He already did that on the Cross…
