and above all, God is love

Here’s the way it is, if you are a believer then chances are that no one can change your mind. If you are not a believer, then it would take a lot of proof…if you are open minded… to change your mind.

Why would I leave room for an unbeliever to change his mind whereas I left no room for the believer to change theirs?

                                          The answer is simple!

If you are a believer then you have probably had an encounter with the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit…or as happened to a friend of mine who is formerly a person born-into-the-Muslim faith…you had a personal encounter with Jesus Christ! That would make anyone a believer.

I have said that because I want to put a scripture here that, as I was reading yesterday, struck me…even if you don’t believe that the scripture is the inspired Word of God, which I most ardently do believe, these words would change our world into a better place if they were followed.

What are these words of wisdom?

Proverbs 6: 16-20

There are six things the Lord hates—
    no, seven things he detests:
haughty eyes,
    a lying tongue,
    hands that kill the innocent,
a heart that plots evil,
feet that race to do wrong,
a false witness who pours out lies,
a person who sows discord in a family.

When I was a little girl, the part of that scripture that was quoted to me the most was the last line, God hates those who cause discord in a family.

                                                   Whose family?

First thought of course is your own family! But then there is a “family” at your workplace, in your church, families of people with whom you associate.

I have seen families torn apart by jealousy of a sibling’s spouse toward members of the family, causing devastating results.

But the verse that struck me hardest at this present time is imbedded in verse 17, it says that God hates “hands that shed innocent blood”…

So much innocent blood is being shed every day in abortion clinics and the details of some of those acts would sicken even the most jaded person.

Read these words written by the wisest man on earth, King Solomon and see if they speak to you the way they did to me.

God loves you, no matter who you are or what you have done, all you must do is ask for His forgiveness, for truly and above all else,

                                                  God is love.

  1. That script verse always made me think , and try my best to do right. I have known some though seemed (seemed) to be doing their best to make just that Happen,
