Are you lonely, or just alone today?

I always want everything to be perfect on a special day like Thanksgiving so that when everyone goes home and I look at the remains of the day, I will know that I have done my best to make everyone’s Thanksgiving a happy one.

I am wondering if you, my reader, are happy, busy, lonely, unhappy, depressed? God has solutions for us all. Sometimes the loneliest place is in the middle of a crowd. Being raised in the home of a minister who has to move when the headquarters says it’s time, we moved often and it was hard to make friends at new schools so when it was lunch time and everyone had friends saving places for them at their tables I would take something and go close myself in a booth in the bathroom to sit on the toilet and eat by myself. I was embarrassed to approach a crowd of people and young people seldom reach out to someone new.

So I know how it feels to be lonely and just wish the time to be over.

But I have good news, God loves you and knows exactly where you are, right this very minute! If he knows the number of hairs on your head and sees a sparrow fall to the ground, then you can bet your last quarter that He see YOU!  Isaiah 41:10-13 ‘You’re my servant, serving on my side. I’ve picked you. I haven’t dropped you. ‘Don’t panic. I’m with you. There’s no need to fear for I’m your God. I’ll give you strength. I’ll help you. I’ll hold you steady, keep a firm grip on you. “Count on it: Everyone who had it in for you will end up out in the cold—real losers. Those who worked against you will end up empty-handed, nothing to show for their lives. When you go out looking for your old adversaries you won’t find them—Not a trace of your old enemies, not even a memory. That’s right. Because I, your God, have a firm grip on you and I’m not letting go. I’m telling you, ‘Don’t panic .I’m right here to help you.’

You are never alone, no matter how “by yourself” you are. There are times I feel like the third wheel, but look at this verse. Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Those were promises from the Old Testament, here are some from the New! Hebrews 13:5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”

You are never alone no matter what you feel! Know that God has sent His angels to keep a guard over you to keep you in all your ways!  Read this excerpt from Psalm 91: Evil can’t get close to you, harm can’t get through the door. He ordered his angels to guard you wherever you go. If you stumble, they’ll catch you; their job is to keep you from falling. You’ll walk unharmed among lions and snakes, and kick young lions and serpents from the path.

I am a person that doesn’t mind being alone, but no one enjoys being lonely. I am thankful every day for His mercy to me.
